Horizon 3 represents the expansion of Duke University’s MURDOCK Study research across the globe. This next step in advancing study goals will involve the enrichment of existing data through multi-institutional collaboration with international academic partners. With the assistance of collaborators from around the world, MURDOCK Study investigators will be able to test hypotheses using geographically and ethnically diverse populations. These enhanced data sets will facilitate cross-population studies, advancing the findings of prior research and verifying their clinical significance across national borders.
Current international partners include a medical school in Singapore, a healthcare industry sponsor in India, and a university in Shanghai. By broadening the scope of the MURDOCK Study, Duke investigators hope to identify epidemiological trends related to their biomarker findings, making a major contribution to research on international public health.
