Ms. Gilliam began working in health care in 1998. She fell in love with the work and has stayed in the field ever since. She began as a hospital telephone operator and worked her way up to admissions supervisor. She was then promoted to an assistant business office manager. She and her husband moved to Concord in 2006.
She returned to school as a non-traditional student at age 36 and earned an associate degree in medical administration. To complete her education, she worked as an intern at a primary care practice and worked for six years in several areas of hospital administration. She joined Duke CTSI TransPop in October 2017 to work in the Kannapolis office.
