Phytoactive Eats: A Healthy Living Series

Mondays, October 9 & 16 | 1–2:30 p.m.

At North Carolina State University’s Plants for Human Health Institute (PHHI), food crops are researched for their healing, health promoting and disease preventing potential. This class will provide an overview of the crops researched by PHHI, their phytochemical compounds, strategies to utilize them in the kitchen and ways that they can contribute to improving or sustaining human health.

Pancake Day at the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County has been a tradition in Concord for sixty years!  Every year on  the third Thursday in March, dedicated board members, volunteers and staff spend the entire day cooking pancakes and sausage for thousands of hungry customers.  This is truly a community event, with close to 5,000 people attending each year.
